Trail riding vacation - Condor

 


The "Condor Trail" is an old historic mule route through the Andes. During this 7-day tour where we are at more than 5.500 metre high passes, you discover the variety of this untouched nature. This adventure has expedition level and is only for riders. Within the team are only four guests, one gaucho and one of us, Manuela or Clark ( the owners of the Hacienda) as a guide (German- and English spoken).

 


Wild, untouched and pure nature - the Andes in this region still are the same like thousands of years ago. Natural herbs, crystal-clear water, fresh air and the gigantic Andes are the impression of the Río San Augustin. The horses we use on this tour are Criollos, Chilean mountain horses. They are sure-footed, well trained by ourselves and we have soft and comfortable saddles, which are made in Chile especially for our needs. A very well trained packing horse will carry the equipment and the luggage. Each participant will be equipped with the entire camping equipment, a saddlebag for personal things, leather chaps, hat and pack-bag. This personal riding tour is only for individualists that know very well how to ride and that are keen to experience real adventure. We camp in tents with inflatable mats and quality sleeping bag. Underneath the stars we prepare dinner at the campfire. All meals are harmonized with all team members.

 


This individual riding tour, the Condor Trail, takes place only three times a year during the Chilean summer. The dates are set individually to suit the wishes of intrested riders and are available between December and March. During this season there is plenty of sunshine, no clouds and the temperature is between 20-25 degrees celcius during the day and 5-10 degrees celcius during the night, depending on the altitude. You should not weigh more than 90 kg, should be fit, athletic and ambitious to join this sensational adventure in a small team.

 


We are riding into the empire of the condors. Often we are at an altitude of 4.000 metres and sometimes at even 5.500 metres, where you often can see the flying giants of the Andes, the condors. This expedition riding trip takes you to remote places away from civilization, which is no exaggeration, and this will reward the members of the team with breathtaking nature impressions and the romantic of the Andes. Because of that, we will accompany you as well experienced guides: Manuela, 15 years of riding experience, riding tours throughout America, teamleader of riding tours in Chile for many years, and Clark, 9 years of experience in riding tours in the Andes of Chile, first person who sailed around the whole American continent including north-west passage, many expeditions in Africa and Asia. Security and detailled organization is our first priority. We leave the risk to the formula 1 racers!

 


To experience the phantastic world of the Andes on the Condor Trail will certainly be a climax in your life. But please do only contact us if you fullfil the criteria of an average rider with experience in trekking rides. We are more than happy to share our know-how, to advice you personally and to guide you into this wilderness of the Andes. This exclusive-tour is only available for 12 people per year ( maximum of four riders for each expedition) on this planet, and despite many inquiries we will not offer any additional dates. This 7-day riding tour comes with accommodation/full-board at our hacienda one day before and one day after the actual excursion, which makes it 9 nights/ 10 days, including all services like transfer in/out, full board, sleeping bag, tent, tour, horses, equipment etc. for a maximum of 4 persons. Minimum of 2 persons - price per person US$ 3.036. From 3-4 persons US$ 2.464 per person. Dates depending on your preference and inquiry.
