This adventurous riding trip, suiting riders and non-riders, leads you across the landscape of the Andes of the Sierra Morrillos. We ride good-natured mountain horses following old paths over passes, through canyons and endless plains. We camp at the fertile oasis of the Andes called Maiten. You experience very closely the life of Chilean mountain farmers. On the second day in the saddle we move across the plateaus of the Andes at about 2,000 metres, ride through lonely valleys and admire a landscape without traces of mankind.

Transfer to Hacienda Los Andes and back from Ovalle or Vicuña. One overnight stay in a comfortable tent. Any meals (picnics during trip). Any facilities of the Hacienda such as sauna, Jacuzzi, nature trail and river access. Explorations accompanied by English, German and Spanish speaking guides. Equipment for riding explorations: Sombrero head, riding gaiters, comfortable Gaucho-saddle, sleeping bag and clean inlet, thermal mat, tent, personal pannier, ice box, by request safety helmet, first aid kit, saddlebags and finally one of our well trai ned Chilean mountain horses.

	This adventurous riding trip, suiting riders and non-riders, leads you across the landscape of the Andes of the Sierra Morrillos. You experience very closely the life of Chilean mountain farmers. On the second day in the saddle we move across the plateaus of the Andes at about 2,000 metres, ride through lonely valleys and admire a landscape without traces of mankind.

	Day 1 At 7:30 am, we pick you up from the Plaza or from your hotel in Vicuña or Ovalle. After arriving at the Hacienda, we start at about 9:30 am preparations for the Andean riding trip. Our German and English speaking team acquaint you with the riding horses, the riding style and any safety precautions. At 10:30 am, on the back of the calm mountain horses we start climbing the Andes leaving behind the Sierra Morrillos. We reach mountains as high as 2,000 metres. Crystal-clear air allows magical views far down the valleys of the Andes. In the late afternoon, we reach the mountain oasis Maiten and have some Asado to eat (customary roasted meat). After sunset, enjoy watching a clear night sky. The very clear sight gave occasion to many European countries to build their observatory nearby. However, we spend the night faraway from civilization in tents.

	Day 2 We continue our trip after breakfast for which we have freshly made bread and goat's cheese. We ride the Maiten Sierra with our horses. We will reach extreme heights. Many green Agarobe trees give shade. Minerals and metals let the earth ashine in many different colours. We enjoy our picnic and a Siesta in a canyon. At about 3:00 pm, we are back at the Hacienda in the green valley of Vado Morrillos. There will be enough time to have a wash or a swim in the river before you return at 4:00 pm to Vicuña or Ovalle passing the wild mountain scenery on the Scenic-Drive.
