For your stay with us please note the following important information:
CLIMATE
The region counts on average with 310 sunny days a year. The Hacienda los Andes is situated in the typical dry Andean climate of South America at an altitude of 1000m (3.300ft). As a rule, temperatures at night are around 20°F (10°C) colder than temperatures by day.
- Spring: September, October, November: average temperature by day 68°F (20°C)
- Summer: December, January, February, March: average temperature by day 77°F (25°C), may become even warmer until 86°F (30°C)
- Autumn: April, May: average temperature by day 68°F (20°C)
- Winter: June, July, August: average temperature by day 59/68°F (15/20°C), during winter it may get cloudy with rain showers for a couple of hours.
MONEY AND CURRENCY
The Chilean Peso is the official currency in Chile. The best accepted currency for exchange is the US dollar. We accept traveller's cheques and so do most Chilean banks. It is recommended to carry some cash US dollar for unforeseen payments and money exchange at hotels on weekends. Almost all credit cards are accepted. In major towns, you can draw cash from ATM's with credit and debit cards and your PIN number.
PASSPORT/VISA
Make sure that your passport is valid for six months. You will get a tourist entry form upon arrival at all borders, respectively in the plane or at the airport. A stay of 90 days are given and the stay can be extended for another 90 or 180 days. In the tourist entry form, you will be asked for your address while in Chile.

HEALTH
As an "island" country, wedged between Pacific Ocean an the high Andes, Chile is kept free of most diseases and does not require vaccination shots. Amongst South American travel experts the country counts as clean with good hygienic standards.
Make sure to bring enough personal medication and, when in doubt, consult your doctor.
