Hacienda Los Andes' primary offering is for dedicated and advanced astrophotographers who want their personal ultimate imaging experience under the world-class skies of the Southern Hemisphere while enjoying the accommodations, food and ambiance of our renowned outdoor lodge, located in

close proximity to Gemini South, SOAR, Vera Rubin and Cerro Tololo professionals.

The observatory offers two complete astrophotography systems, covering all ranges from wide-angle to high-resolution detail imaging. Both systems feature quality optics, an Astro-Physics mount, a high-quality CCD camera system and a pre-configured control computer, all housed in their own

dome.

Furthermore, we offer four AC powered observing platforms for the guests who prefer to use their own equipment. One of these platforms has a permanent, pre-aligned high-end mount that can adapt to a variety of telescopes that our guests may want to bring.

Visual observations are not neglected at Hacienda Los Andes. Around new moon, we offer our guests a one-hour tour, showcasing the gems of the southern night sky. Also, Dobson telescopes and quality binoculars are available for rent.
